Mandorlini on Catania list

Catania could well release Vincenzo Montella to Fiorentina if they can tempt Andrea Mandorlini away from Hellas Verona.

The Elefantini admitted this week they have “problems” with Montella wanting to leave in order to start the Viola revolution.

One of the reasons they are so eager not to let him go is the lack of a suitable replacement.

According to Tuttosport, the latest candidate for the Sicilians is current Verona manager Mandorlini.

The former Atalanta Coach had a strong campaign in Serie B and took his side to the promotion play-offs, where they were eliminated by Varese on Saturday.

Another alternative is Pasquale Marino, who already took Catania to promotion in 2005-06 and is looking for work after he was sacked by Genoa.
