Ibra 'cleared the air' with Milan

Zlatan Ibrahimovic dreams of winning Euro 2012 with Sweden and admits he had to “clear the air” with Milan after suggesting the club had no money.

The striker hit headlines recently when on international duty, as he said in a press conference that the Rossoneri didn’t have the funds to sign reinforcements.

“Yes, there were a few phone calls after my comments, but the fundamental thing is that we cleared the air,” noted Ibra.

“After many years in this sport I am accustomed to these situations. The important thing now is to look forward.

“The media ought to help create a more positive atmosphere ahead of a major tournament. That way the team could focus more on its objectives.

“For me, winning Euro 2012 would possibly be worth more than all the titles I’ve won so far in my career. Winning with your country is special and it’s an honour for me to represent Sweden.

“It would be fantastic to win the trophy with this jersey and then go home to celebrate with the fans.”

Naturally, Ibrahimovic was also asked about the betting investigation that has struck Serie A and B in recent weeks.

“It’s shameful and nothing to do with football. Have I ever noticed anything strange? No, I focus only on winning every game and I’ve been fortunate enough to play with great teammates in big clubs.

“I’ve never heard of anything like this and what’s happening is rather shocking.”
