Inter intend to have their own purpose-built stadium by 2016, the Corriere dello Sport is reporting.
The Nerazzurri currently share the council-owned Stadio Meazza with city rivals Milan, an arena that is set to undergo a number of improvements in the near future.
However, the Moratti family are planning to turn their back on San Siro in favour of a new home which will exclusively belong to them.
The club have five possible sites in mind and have already approached a construction company regarding the build. They hope to have the project completed in time for the start of the 2016-17 campaign.
A new arena should dramatically increase stadium revenue given that they net just €28m a season by using San Siro.
New Italian giants Juventus moved into their own new 41,000-seater stadium at the beginning of the 2011-12 term.
