Gaetano D’Agostino says he wants to continue playing for Siena despite the possible option of a switch to hometown club Palermo.
The midfielder has been linked with a move to Sicily given that Siena boss Giuseppe Sannino is only an announcement away from being confirmed as the Rosanero’s new tactician.
“I wish Sannino a career full of success, but I am a Siena player and I want to remain as one,” the Italian told Sky Sport 24.
“I have expressed my desire to stay at this club, but my future will not only be decided by myself. Half of my contract still belongs to Udinese and the two clubs still need to discuss a few things.”
D’Agostino, who turned 30 yesterday, started his career in the Palermo youth ranks before joining Roma as a 16-year-old.
He’s also played for Bari, Messina, Udinese and Fiorentina in his career.
