Emanuele Giaccherini isn’t sure if he’ll start against Spain, but “can guarantee speed, counter-attacks and dynamism.”
The Juventus winger was a latecomer to Serie A, but has risen rapidly since then and is tipped to be in the starting XI for Italy’s Euro 2012 opener.
“I don’t know if I’ll play tomorrow, but in any case it’s a dream come true just to be here,” said Giaccherini.
“If I step on to the field, I can guarantee speed, counter-attacks and dynamism.”
He’s likely to be introduced now that Cesare Prandelli has switched to a 3-5-2 system, which is also used at Juventus by teammates Claudio Marchisio, Andrea Pirlo and Giorgio Chiellini.
“If I do get to play alongside them, then it would certainly be an advantage. I’ll ask for Andre Iniesta’s jersey, but only if we win.”
