It’s believed Vincenzo Montella could finally become the new Fiorentina Coach this weekend and he is intent on keeping controversial Alessio Cerci.
The tactician has been released from his contract by Catania, but reportedly only in return for the Viola handing over youth team player Amidu Salifu.
Montella should be presented to the media with a press conference on Monday, allowing the club to begin building for next season.
Cerci was expected to leave Florence after a series of rows with the local fans and his red card in the 5-0 defeat to Juventus.
However, it’s reported Montella is eager to keep hold of ex-Roma winger Cerci, as he’d fit into the 4-3-3 system.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Fiorentina are also looking to make new signings in Holland.
Mounir El Hamdaoui was already very close to a move from Ajax in January, while there are also PSV talent Georgino Wijnaldum and AZ Alkmaar’s Swedish international Rasmus Elm.
