Lazio director of sport Igli Tare confirms “Ederson will be playing with Lazio next season,” but rules out a bid for Juventus outcast Milos Krasic.

“Yes, Ederson will be playing with Lazio next season,” he told Lazio Style Radio, the official club station.

“However, Krasic will not be coming. The player was contacted in January, but he rejected the move.”

Brazilian midfielder Ederson is a free agent after his contract with Lyon expired and his agent noted there were only “secondary details” missing before the transfer could be completed.

Meanwhile, Tare also admitted they were waiting for Brazilian defender Breno’s trial for arson to be completed in Munich.

It is expected to take around three weeks and he could be given a suspended sentence or even just a fine, in which case Lazio would make their move.

“I hope the legal matter can be overcome soon, as I’d be very happy for him to come to Lazio. It didn’t go well for him in Germany, but that’s not to say he’d find the same situation in Italy.

“He has undoubted quality and is one of the best defenders around. He needs to feel affection to give his best and Lazio represent his chance to start again.”
