The 34-year-old wants to return to his former club to see out his career, but their future is uncertain after a creditors’ deal was snubbed by Revenue and Customs.

“This is a peculiar situation for Gattuso,” representative Andrea D’Amico told Sport Italia. “Rangers risk folding and we’ll know what will happen in the next few days. That obviously complicates matters.
“We do have, however, some alternative solutions, but we have to find a club who will offer the right motivation to Rino.”
One thing is for sure though and that is that the 2006 World Cup winner has ended his career in Serie A.
“He doesn’t feel that he can wear the shirt of another Italian club after 13 years at Milan,” D’Amico underlined.
Gattuso initially joined the Scottish giants in 1997 as a teenager and only left in October 1998 after not featuring in the plans of boss Dick Advocaat.
He played just six Serie A games in 2011-12 because of an optical nerve problem he picked up last September.
“He had a tough season because of his eye issue, but that has been resolved and he’s ready for a new challenge.”
The representative also confirmed that Gattuso rejected “a really big offer” from Russian club Anzhi last summer in order to remain at San Siro.
