Alberto Gilardino’s agent has refused to deny that the striker will leave Genoa this summer, although he says that French club Monaco are not an option.
The 29-year-old only joined Genoa in January in a €8m deal from Fiorentina, but his form has been so poor that he could be offloaded already.
Monaco were alleged to hold an interest in bringing the former international to France, but his agent Giuseppe Bozzo has told Sportitalia that deal isn’t on the cards.
“There is no negotiation with Monaco,” Bozzo claimed. “However, there are a lot of things which are currently boiling in the pot.”
Gilardino, signed to fire Genoa up the table despite a disappointing end to his Fiorentina career, failed to recapture his best form and only scored four goals as the Rossoblu narrowly avoided relegation.
