Mutu to Genoa deal collapses

Relegated Cesena have revealed that Adrian Mutu’s proposed move to Genoa is now off. “It was all agreed…”

The Seahorses will sell their best players following their failure to survive in Serie A and that includes Mutu – the highest earner at the club.

“With regards to Adrian, we had a full deal agreed with Genoa,” Cesena President Igor Campedelli told Sky Sport Italia.

“However, everything then collapsed. Mutu is on the market and we’ll see what happens between now and August 31.”

The 33-year-old joined Cesena from Fiorentina last summer and scored eight goals in 28 League appearances for the club.

Campedelli also confirmed that midfielder Marco Parolo would be leaving. “There are a number of negotiations taking place, but it is hard at the moment to say where he will move to.”

Parma and Cagliari are just two clubs keen on the Italian international.
