Mario Balotelli “is not afraid of England, but maybe they are afraid of him,” said the Italy star’s agent.

Much of the focus in the lead-up to tonight’s Euro 2012 quarter-final is on the Manchester City striker.

“Mario is not afraid of England, but maybe they are afraid of him,” Mino Raiola told Sky Sport Italia.

“How is he experiencing the hours before the game? As always, laughing and joking with his teammates.

“His English colleagues fear him, just as they fear all great players. I hope Mario can step on to the field with the same grit and determination to do well that he showed against Ireland. His objective is to reach the next round.

“I spoke to Mario and his mood is always the same. He is a lad who always tries to be happy and live his life the way he wants to. At times he is disappointed by the behaviour of other people.

“He is sincere and eager to do well. His teammates and Coach Cesare Prandelli are happy with him.”
