Ireland assistant manager Marco Tardelli has tipped Mario Balotelli to be “the extra weapon that can take Italy to the Final.”

The 1982 World Cup winner cast his eye over tonight’s Euro 2012 clash between the Azzurri and England.

“In the group phase we faced a good Italy side, even if the Azzurri played a more nervous game because it was decisive for their passage to the quarter-finals,” Tardelli told Rai Sport.

“Cesare Prandelli’s side has great quality and Balotelli is an important figure. SuperMario scored a fine goal against Ireland and I liked his attitude in yesterday’s Press conference.

“He is certainly an extra weapon that can take Italy to the Final. It seems too easy to predict a Spain-Germany Final, so I hope the Nazionale can get there.”
