Antonio Cassano will reportedly start alongside Mario Balotelli in tonight’s Euro 2012 semi-final between Italy and Germany.
Stories yesterday suggested that boss Cesare Prandelli was pondering a change in attack, with the Milan man set to be replaced in the line-up by Bologna’s Alessandro Diamanti.
However, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Bari, Roma and Sampdoria enigma will again make the starting line-up for the fifth game running.
The Gazzetta suggests that Prandelli will make just one change to the team which beat England on penalties in the last round.
Juventus stopper Giorgio Chiellini will return after injury, but the centre-back will be fielded on the left in place of Palermo’s Federico Balzaretti.
Ignazio Abate and Daniele De Rossi should also start the game despite concerns that they would not be fit for the clash.
Italy possible: Buffon; Abate, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Marchisio, Pirlo, De Rossi; Montolivo; Cassano, Balotelli
