Andrea Pirlo received another Man of the Match award against Germany, but warns Italy “haven’t done anything yet.”

The Azzurri swept Germany aside 2-1 in the semi-final and now face Spain on Sunday in Kiev.

“I have always tried to give my best and work for the team. After the World Cup we had a few problems and failed to get more success, but we earned this Final and now have to go for it.

“We haven’t done anything yet, as it’d be like going to Rome and not seeing The Pope. We are in the Final, but we need the victory.

“We require the same spirit, determination and mentality as we showed both against England and Germany tonight.”

Pirlo was a key figure in the 2006 World Cup victory and was asked if this Euro 2012 campaign reminded him of that adventure.

“There are similarities, as we want to experience these sensations and there are many players who have never really enjoyed this level. Now we are preparing for a great Final.”
