No Olympics for Behrami?

Valon Behrami has been included in the Switzerland squad for the Olympic Games, but Fiorentina may not allow him to take part.

The midfielder is one of three senior internationals in the party and clubs are only forced to release players under the age of 23 for the competition.

It is being claimed that new boss Vincenzo Montella wants the former Lazio and West Ham man available for pre-season training.

Behrami could thus be in Florence on Friday or Saturday to undergo medical tests ahead of the Viola’s new campaign.

Switzerland will face Gabon, South Korea and Mexico in their group games as they bid for Gold in London.

Goalkeepers: Diego Benaglio (Wolfsburg), Benjamin Siegrist (Aston Villa).

Defenders: Francois Affolter (Werder Bremen), Fabio Daprela (Brescia), Timm Klose (Nurenberg), Michel Morganella (Novara), Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), Fabian Schaer (Wil).

Midfielders: Valon Behrami (Fiorentina), Amir Abrashi (Grasshoppers), Fabian Frei (FC Basel), Pajtim Kasami (Fulham), Alain Wiss (Lucerne), Granit Xhaka (Borussia Moenchengladbach).

Forwards: Innocent Emeghara (Lorient), Admir Mehmedi (Dynamo Kiev), Josip Drmic (Zurich), Steven Zuber (Grasshoppers).
