Dubai outfit Al Nasr have admitted defeat in their attempts to sign Palermo captain Fabrizio Miccoli this summer.
The 33-year-old was wanted by Walter Zenga’s side and he was considering the switch given that he has less than a year left on his Sicilian contract.
However, Al Nasr have released a note on their website which has confirmed that they have ended their pursuit of the forward.
“The club did start concrete negotiations to sign him,” the statement read. “Talks were not successful though because of the determination of Palermo to keep the player.”
Miccoli joined the Rosanero in the summer of 2007 from Juventus after loan spells at Fiorentina and Benfica.
