Pescara President Daniele Sebastiani has suggested that Juventus might miss out Marco Verratti because of a lack of desire for him.

The Bianconeri, alongside Napoli, were in negotiations for the 19-year-old midfielder earlier this summer, only for talks to collapse as reportedly a deal over players offered in exchange could not be agreed.

With Paris Saint-Germain in continuing talks over a suggested €14m move for the Italian, Sebastiani has taken a jibe at Juve for potentially missing out on him.

“There is great interest from Paris Saint-Germain in our player, even if their intentions have not completely been put on the table.

“We have the same chances of completing negotiations as we had with Juventus and Napoli. I personally would have preferred one of the two Italian options, because we would have had him back on a year-long loan.

“Obviously it is because of a lack of will, because if you really want the player, €1m does not make a difference.

“In fact, Napoli showed a willingness, even if the player has decided on his own to do what he wants.

“Moreover, it is his life. The market knows this, the opportunities for the players and we must respect their wishes.”

The Corriere dello Sport report today that Juventus are trying to hijack PSG’s move for the player by re-entering negotiations, following on from the player's admission yesterday that he could still opt for a stay in Italy, one way or another.
