Palermo’s Giuseppe Sannino says he has no concerns about being tipped to become the first coaching casualty of the Serie A season.
The 55-year-old has taken the over at the poison chalice that is Palermo after his success at Siena last term.
However, given that he is the 17th man to be appointed as Rosanero boss by Maurizio Zamparini since 2002, some Serie A Betting odds are suggesting his tenure could be short-lived.
“I must say thank you to the President for giving me this opportunity,” the ex-Varese tactician noted. “My only ambition is to work and I want to repay his confidence on the field.
“All the Coaches will start the new campaign on a level playing field, but the hunt for the first one to be dismissed will start from day two.
“I may start ahead of the rest of the tacticians, but I want to break the tradition…”
Zamparini replaced Stefano Pioli before the start of the League campaign last season, while he then axed Devis Mangia in December.
Other tacticians who are contenders to quickly be dismissed are Cagliari’s Massimo Ficcadenti, Rolando Maran of Catania and Genoa’s Gigi De Canio.
