Serie A side Fiorentina have made Arsenal an offer for the services of striker Marouane Chamakh.
The Viola are looking for a new forward and the Morocco international is thought to be available for transfer.
The 28-year-old caught the eye of Europe’s top clubs with his fine form at Bordeaux and he moved to the London club in 2010 on a Bosman free transfer.
The attacker has had his struggles though, scoring just 12 goals in 63 games for Arsene Wenger’s side.
Fiorentina showed an interest in Chamakh last summer, but no switch was agreed. The Viola have also been linked with Roma’s Marco Borriello.
