Genoa have joined Palermo in the chase to sign Cagliari centre-back Michele Canini, reports are suggesting.
The 26-year-old was being linked with a switch to the Rosanero as a replacement for the Inter-bound Matias Silvestre.
However, according to stories around the port club, Genoa have made a move for the former Italian Under-21 international.
Canini, 34 games in Serie A last season, could be made available for transfer after Davide Astori opted to stay at Cagliari despite an offer from Spartak Moscow.
