Chamakh too pricey for Fiorentina

Fiorentina maintain that there has been no bid for Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh because his salary is too high for the club.

Reports over the last 48 hours have suggested that the Viola have made an offer for the Moroccan striker.

However, sporting director Daniele Prade has told Sport Italia that his outfit have not made an attempt to swoop for his signature.

“There has been no offer for Chamakh,” the former Roma official noted. “He’s a player who earns €3m a season.”

The international is available for transfer after struggling for goals in London following his 2010 move from Bordeaux.
