Pioli wants Ramirez to stay

Despite speculation growing that Bologna will sell Gaston Ramirez this summer, Coach Stefano Pioli is hopeful that he will stay.

Youngster Ramirez has reportedly attracted the interest of Liverpool and Napoli within the past year and whilst reports suggested last week that the English club were considering a bid, rumours today speculate that Napoli have made the first offer.

Despite a reported €10m-plus-two-players bid from the Vesuviani sitting on the table, Pioli has appealed to his directors to not sell the 21-year-old this summer.

“He is still our player,” emphasised the Coach to the assembled media today, as he spoke from Bologna’s pre-season preparations.

“I really like Ramirez as a man and a footballer, he trains happily here. It is natural that I’d like to start the season with him here. His is a talent that can still grow.”
