Sao Paulo have reacted with surprise that Inter chief Massimo Moratti wants to quickly wrap up a deal for Lucas.
The Nerazzurri have admitted an interest in the Brazilian, but it seems that the Beneamata are some way off completing a swoop.
“I can say that there has been no official offer or even the request for any information,” Sao Paulo Vice-President Joao Paulo De Jesus Lopes told FCInterNews.it in an interview.
“I can guarantee that we at Sao Paulo are not negotiating with Inter.”
The South American, an attacking midfielder, is not only on the radar of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza outfit given that Real Madrid and Manchester United are also keen.
“We are talking about their interest within our club, but I can’t really say anything more than that for evident reasons,” he continued.
“How much would Lucas cost? You know that there is a rescission clause in his contract for anyone that wants the player – that’s set at €80m!”
Speculation in Italy suggests that Inter are ready to offer up to €25m and no more.
