Genoa are set to undergo talks to take full ownership of in-demand Mattia Destro and have also opened the door for Marco Borriello’s return.
Destro is co-owned by Genoa and Siena and the clubs will meet this week to discuss how to solve his contractual situation.
It has been rumoured that Genoa will buy Siena’s half of Destro before immediately selling him to Roma or Inter. Milan and Juventus are also keen on the Italian.
“On Wednesday I will meet Siena President Massimo Mezzaroma to discuss Destro,” Genoa President Enrico Preziosi told Sky Sport Italia. “We must find an agreement.”
Preziosi also revealed his interest in Roma’s Borriello, a player who is searching for a new club this summer. “Can Borriello return to Genoa? Maybe, I am very fond of the boy.”
Borriello spent the 2007-08 season with the Grifone, scoring 19 goals, his personal best.
