Genoa have told Spartak Moscow that they’ll have to hand over €15m if they want to sign Alexander Merkel.
The Rossoblu have admitted that the Russian club are keen on the midfielder and sporting director Stefano Capozucca is currently in Russia on transfer business.
According to Sky Sport Italia, President Enrico Preziosi values the young German at €15m – a fee deemed as excessive by Spartak.
The 20-year-old returned to Marassi this summer after he was signed outright from his co-ownership deal with Milan.
He joined the Milan youth sector at the age of 16 after catching the eye during a five-year spell for Stuttgart.
