Milan will buy a “champion” in attack by the end of the summer, promises Milan Vice-President Adriano Galliani.
The much discussed transfers of centre-back Thiago Silva and star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain has left the side with Euros to spend, but also lacking in big names.
But Galliani has assured anxious fans that he believes Milan will unveil a noteworthy signing by the time the transfer window has closed.
“I see much frenzy, but it is right to remember that there’s time until August 31 to make signings,” he said outside the Giannino restaurant in the city.
“Rest assured that a champion up front will arrive at Milan. Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko or Carlos Tevez? Let’s wait.”
Meanwhile, Galliani rubbished reports that Robinho could be off to Santos and denied claims that they could beat Roma to the signature of Siena’s Mattia Destro.
“We will not be selling Robinho,” he confirmed. “And we will not be disturbing Roma for Destro.”
Other rumours continue to persist that the Diavolo are preparing for a shock swoop for former Brazilian forward Kaka.
