Sampdoria have made it clear that there is no possibility that Milan’s Antonio Cassano could return to Marassi.

The Corriere dello Sport is today suggesting that the 30-year-old is considering his future given the squad changes happening within Milanello.

Newly promoted Sampdoria, however, have underlined that the former Bari and Roma man will not be re-signed.

“I can absolutely rule out a return for this season,” Doria Vice-President Edoardo Garrone stated on Wednesday morning.

“We had some wonderful times together and our relationship with him is excellent, but roads part in life.

“It would be better for him if he remained in Rossonero. Let’s not talk about this anymore.”

Cassano appeared for Samp between 2007 and 2011. He left in the January of that year after a fall-out with President Riccardo Garrone.

The Italian international scored 35 goals in 96 League games for Doria following his transfer from Real Madrid.
