Macedonian star Goran Pandev has revealed why he chose to make the move to Napoli permanent after last season’s loan stint from Inter.
“Napoli offers a thousand resources, this is why I opted for them,” Pandev told Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday.
“Victory creates the mentality we have now,” he added. “I believe in this project and it gives me great excitement.”
The 28-year-old striker, who won the Champions League with Inter two years ago, under the helm of now Real Madrid Coach Jose Mourinho, also touched on what he learned during his Nerazzurri days.
“With Mourinho I played as a full-back and I would do it again for Mazzarri,” he continued. “Mourinho and Samuel Eto’o told me that in the end you don’t play, you win.
“With this mentality we will face the Italian Super Cup Final against Juventus [on August 11].”
Pandev, who scored six times for the Partenopei last season, then proceeded to give his take on the two brand new arrivals at Napoli.
“Alessandro Gamberini is a great player who, along with Valon Behrami, will give us a big helping hand after their moves from Fiorentina.”
