Roma have confirmed the signing of 25-year-old defender Leandro Castan from Brazilian outfirt Corinthians.
The centre-back, who has had a previous spell in Europe with Helsingborgs IF, has been widely expected to complete a move to the capital club this summer, as the Giallorossi bid to improve their defence from last season.
Castan’s arrival has now been made official, via a statement released by Roma on their official website.
“AS Roma announces that it has signed an agreement with Corinthians for the definitive acquisition of the rights of the player Leandro Castan da Silva, for a fee of €5m, with the player signing a contract for four years until June 30, 2016.”
