Lorenzo Insigne could not hide his happiness at scoring his first Napoli goal in a 3-2 win over Bayern Munich. “What immense joy!”
The Under-21 international has returned from a loan spell at Pescara to effectively replace Ezequiel Lavezzi and scored the winner in Friday’s 3-2 friendly victory.
“What immense joy!” commented the youngster. “Scoring for the first time with this jersey gives me enormous pleasure and it’s even more wonderful getting the decisive goal against such a strong side as Bayern.”
Insigne was used in a partnership with Edu Vargas in a 3-5-2 system, moving Marek Hamsik back into midfield.
“Lorenzo is already a hero for the Napoli fans, as he has an exciting style of football and the supporters feel very close to him,” added agent Fabio Andreotti.
“This is the club and the city where they expect a touch of genius to entertain them. Plus let’s not forget he was facing half the defence that played in the Champions League Final.”
