Andrea Stramaccioni was pleased with Inter’s Trofeo TIM victories over Juventus and Milan. “It’s a good test for the Europa League.”
“These sides obviously are more used to working together and have a tactical identity, but after suffering in the first 10 minutes we found the right approach,” said Coach Stramaccioni.
“Against Juve we started with four at the back, but were struggling down Stephan Lichtsteiner’s flank, so Javier Zanetti gave us a hand for more of a 3-5-2.”
Inter impressed at the Stadio San Nicola in Bari, though the tactician acknowledged they started pre-season training earlier.
This is because they face either Hajduk Split or FC Skonto Riga in the Europa League preliminary round on August 2 and 9.
“Compared to Juventus and Milan, we have to be ready sooner for this season. This is why we are working very hard and I can say this was a good test for the Europa League.”
This was the 12th edition of the Trofeo TIM and Inter have won eight of them.
