Sao Paulo defender Ivan Piris could complete his proposed move to Italian giants Roma by the end of the week.
The capital club are looking for a new right-back and the South American has been targeted by sporting director Walter Sabatini.
The Paraguayan international is a 23-year-old who holds an EU passport and has also been linked with Sevilla.
Piris could arrive on a loan deal, with Roma given the right to buy at the end of the 2012-13 campaign for €5m.
