All three of Italy’s major sports newspapers are claiming that Juventus’ Fabio Quagliarella could move to Inter in a swap deal with Giampaolo Pazzini.
The latter is available for transfer after being told by boss Andrea Stamaccioni that he is not in his first team plans.
Juve director general Beppe Marotta yesterday phoned Pazzini, whom he signed for Sampdoria while with the port club, to apparently confirm their interest in him.
While the former Fiorentina player is likely to be in favour of a Turin switch, convincing Quagliarella to leave his current outfit may be more problematic.
Quagliarella has been linked with a departure this summer given that he is not assured of first team football in Turin.
The former Napoli player, paired with Zenit St Petersburg yesterday, is contracted to the Bianconeri until June 2015.
