Cristian Zapata is unlikely to return to Italian football following Villarreal’s relegation from the Spanish top flight.
The Colombian will move on this summer, but a switch to the peninsula seems impossible at this moment of the transfer window.
“Even though the market is long and anything can happen, I don’t believe that he can return to Italy,” agent Massimo Italiani told Sport Italia.
“What I can say with some certainty is that he will leave Villarreal.”
The 25-year-old, linked with Milan, Juventus and Napoli, spent six years with Udinese before his 2011 move to Spain.
