Stephan El Shaarawy is hoping to convince Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri of his abilities with goals in pre-season.
The teenager, who will be 20 in October, is wanting to leave his mark following Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s move to Paris Saint-Germain.
“It’s very important for me to score goals, but I am also looking for performances,” the forward noted ahead of Tuesday’s test against Schalke.
“I always look to give my best for the club and for the [Under-21] national side.”
The Rossoneri lost to Inter and Juventus in the Trofeo TIM at the weekend and the former Genoa player is expecting some problems in Germany.
“We had two difficult games in the TIM against teams who were ahead of us in terms of preparation,” he continued.
“Schalke are also at a more advanced stage than we are and it will be a good test. We’re in decent shape going into this though.”
