Matias Silvestre is confident that his new Inter side will be in a position to make a great start to the campaign.
The Nerazzurri will be in Europa League duty on August 2 and 9, before the championship begins at the end of next month.
“We have a strong squad and we're going to battle for Serie A and the Europa League,” he told Inter Channel. “We’re ready to give 100 per cent.”
Silvestre, a summer signing from Palermo, has been struggling with fitness issues recently, but featured in Tuesday’s 3-2 friendly win over Como.
“I had to sit out training for four or five days and I missed a few sessions, but I’m OK now and I’m trying get fit again.
“The Como tie was an enjoyable game and just what we needed to get minutes into our legs – it was a good training exercise.”
