Allegri working on a new Milan

Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has conceded that his side will have to change their footballing philosophy after the sale of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish international was regularly the man to make a difference for the Diavolo before he joined Paris Saint-Germain this month.

“Ibra’s loss means we will certainly have to change the way we play football,” Allegri stated after the 1-0 friendly win over Schalke.

“But the club are aware of what we still need on the transfer market.”

The Diavolo were criticised at the weekend after being beaten by Inter and Juventus in a three-team tournament, but Urby Emanuelson got them back on track with a goal in Germany.

“Emanuelson is one of the most technically gifted players that we have,” the former Cagliari boss added.

“I’m happy because in the Trofeo Tim we paid the price for individual errors, but we hardly suffered against Schalke and we proved dangerous.

“The victory is worth nothing, but it is good for morale. The comments about us after the TIM trophy were ungenerous, but it is important that we are ready on August 26.”
