It was confirmed earlier this week that Bianconero centre-back Bonucci is facing a deferral for sporting fraud for his alleged involvement the betting scandal to have hit Italy this year.

Should Bonucci be found guilty then he faces a potential lengthy playing ban, which is a prospect that reportedly has his club considering bringing in back-up.

Sky Sport Italia understand that Andrea Ranocchia is unlikely to be released by Inter to the club, so Chievo’s Andreolli, who was also targeted earlier this summer by the Nerazzurri, is understood to top their list.

Andreolli, who has previously played for Roma, was coincidentally at Inter as a youth alongside Bonucci. The 26-year-old is available at a reduced rate this summer, as his contract in Verona only has another 12 months to run.
