Roma won another of their US friendlies by beating the El Salvador national side 2-1 in New York, but saw Panagiotis Tachtsidis sent off.
Zdenek Zeman’s men continued their tour of America after defeating Liverpool this week and also conquered the Red Bull Arena.
Francesco Totti, Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Erik Lamela formed the initial trident attack and it didn’t take long for them to make an impact.
Osvaldo dribbled past a defender and beat the goalkeeper with a right-foot angled drive.
Young midfielder Florenzi almost made it 2-0, but his snapshot cracked against the crossbar and Osvaldo tried to turn in the rebound, only to be denied by a goalline clearance.
El Salvador equalised after the break thanks to two howlers, as Gabriel Heinze was slow to close down the move and Bodgan Lobont was surprised at the near post by Gutierrez.
On the hour mark the Giallorossi restored their advantage to win the game with a quick passing move. Marquinho set up Bojan Krkic to fire in from the edge of the box.
There was a tense finale to the match, however, as summer signing Tachtsidis was sent off for a reaction foul after a nasty tackle.
