Fiorentina have seen their link with Alberto Aquilani rekindled, as the Liverpool man could be set for another spell in Serie A.
The midfielder returned to Liverpool this summer after two years spent on loan at Juventus and then Milan, but neither club took up its option to make the moves permanent.
According to The People, Fiorentina have revived their interest in taking Aquilani to Tuscany, as they had already been linked with a bid in recent months.
In this case, the move would be a sale rather than the expected loan and cost around €9m (£7m).
The Viola need midfield reinforcements after releasing Riccardo Montolivo to Milan and Valon Behrami to Napoli.
