Reports in Italy suggest Fiorentina directors will meet with Liverpool on Wednesday to discuss Alberto Aquilani.
His agent denied claims of talks for the midfielder, but over the last 48 hours it’s believed discussions developed.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Aquilani left Rome today in order to reach Liverpool to start pre-season training.
However, a meeting is planned between Fiorentina and Liverpool tomorrow, so if all goes well then Aquilani will be flying straight back again.
It is claimed Liverpool will agree to release the Italian international for €5m and he’s ready to accept a three-year contract worth €1.8m per season.
Aquilani spent the last two years on loan in Serie A with Juventus and then Milan, but neither side took up the option to make the move permanent.
