Abbiati: 'Milan are competitive'

Christian Abbiati believes Milan “do not need more reinforcements” despite losing so many stars this summer.

The Rossoneri have released the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Thiago Silva, Alessandro Nesta, Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Mark Van Bommel.

“Juventus are the same side as last season, with a few reinforcements,” Abbiati told Milan Channel.

“Inter are in the same situation as us, but we will challenge for the Scudetto with these teams, even if Napoli and Roma could be in the race too.

“I think Milan will probably move on the market, but we do not need more reinforcements, as we are already competitive.”

Milan are currently in America for their tour of friendlies, although Philippe Mexes has left the Philadelphia training camp for a return to Italy, as his wife is about to give birth.
