Luca Toni is being linked with a return to Italy this summer, with Serie B side Spezia understood to be considering a move.
Toni is currently based in the UAE with Walter Zenga’s Al Nasr, but has more than once been reported as surplus to requirements at the club.
Spezia, who have just returned to Serie B this summer after winning the Lega Pro Prima Divisione B, are reportedly in contact with the 35-year-old and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, believe they can catch the striker, who is understood to be available on a free transfer.
Former Fiorentina, Bayern Munich and Italy forward Toni first made his name in Serie B, with spells at Treviso and Palermo.
