Villarreal have announced on their official website that defender Gonzalo Rodriguez has transferred to Fiorentina.
The 28-year-old Argentine-born centre-back has spent the past eight years at El Madrigal, but becomes the second player to transfer to Florence from the club this week, after Borja Valero.
In confirming Valero’s completion of his move to Italy, Villarreal announced today via their website that a deal had been agreed with the Viola for Rodriguez too.
“Villarreal and Fiorentina have reached an agreement for the transfer of Argentine defender Gonzalo Rodriguez, who will play next season at the Italian club,” read the statement on the Yellow Submarine’s site.
Rodriguez is now set to become the third centre-back to join Fiorentina this summer.
