Torino newcomer Guillermo Rodriguez already knows how to please the Granata fans. “We want to beat Juventus.”
The Uruguayan defender completed his move from Cesena last week on a one-year contract with option for another two seasons.
“I am happy to be here in such a well-known and important club as Torino,” said the 28-year-old.
“When the call came, I had no doubts about giving my consent to the move. I can play as a centre-back or a full-back, so I’m at the disposal of the Coach.
“My friends spoke highly of Toro, telling me it’s a marvellous club with very passionate fans.
“My teammates gave me a warm welcome and it helps that I also played with Mario Alberto Santana at Cesena last season.”
Naturally, the first target for Rodriguez is the Turin derby, which returns to Serie A.
“Obviously I know this is a very important game. The Torino fans are so gritty and I already heard chants asking us to win the derby.
“We will do everything possible to make them happy, as we want to beat Juventus.”
