Napoli’s new starlet Lorenzo Insigne is hoping to recover from an ankle injury in time to face Juventus in Saturday’s Super Cup, said his agent.
The Under-21 international has set the passion of fans alight this summer with goals and dribbling skills that earned comparisons to Ezequiel Lavezzi and Gianfranco Zola.
The pint-sized striker is in doubt to feature in the Italian Super Cup clash in Beijing on Saturday afternoon.
“The ankle is improving slowly,” agent Antonio Ottaiano told Radio Goal.
“The medical staff is aware he could recover in time, otherwise they would’ve left him at home. His condition will be evaluated day by day.”
As Edinson Cavani is fresh from Uruguay’s Olympic adventure and therefore not 100 per cent fit either, there was a good chance Insigne would’ve played against Juve.
