As contract talks between Mauro Zarate and Lazio reportedly stall, rumours of a move elsewhere are set to return, with Galatasaray reportedly prepared.
Zarate returned to Rome this summer after an unsuccessful season-long loan with Inter and, after impressing in pre-season, looked set to stay with the club into 2012-13.
However, it is reported that the capital outfit are also keen to renegotiate the striker’s current contract, extending it by a year and reducing the wage slightly, with the player earning the same total amount but the club paying less as an annual rate.
Zarate has already publicly commented that he would not be signing such an agreement and Tuttosport believe that the continued stalling of talks has invited Galatasaray into consideration. The Turks are understood to be monitoring the situation with interest.
