Francesco Totti and his medical specialist have reassured fans that the suspected injury suffered on his ankle is nothing serious.

The veteran visited Professor Pierpaolo Mariani’s clinic this morning to undergo tests on his left ankle, the same joint that Mariani had first operated on in 2006.

Totti had reportedly been complaining of discomfort through pre-season work and was sent for an examination today after it became inflamed.

However, both the player and his doctor have stated that tests conducted today have revealed only slight inflammation and no other particular damage to the joint.

“I’m okay, okay. But, I’m not going back to Irdning because in the coming days I will have another check on the injury,” Totti told reporters outside Villa Stuart this afternoon.

Roma are preparing a statement, but I can tell you that Totti is good,” Mariani then added.
