England’s Joe Hart, Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain have withdrawn from the squad that will face Italy on Wednesday night due to injury.
Hart’s back problem and Sturridge’s toe injury saw them both withdraw from the Three Lions’ squad overnight, whilst Arsenal youngster Oxlade-Chamberlain has followed them today due to an ankle injury.
Manager Roy Hodgson has called up just Joleon Lescott as a replacement, meaning that the English squad is two players light for the fixture.
Goalkeeper Hart represented an experienced figure in a largely experimental England team so his absence means that one of the uncapped duo John Ruddy and Jack Butland will debut.
