Whilst some reports have Napoli as on the verge of completing a deal for Alvaro Pereira, others put Inter in place as attempting to hijack it.

The Uruguay defender is set to leave Porto this summer after a difficult season with the club and, previously offered to Chelsea a year ago at a reported €23m, is available for a cut-price €11m loan-structured deal.

The Corriere dello Sport believe that Napoli have already agreed to pay an initial €1.5m to take the 26-year-old for the next 12 months and to then pay €9.5m next summer to turn the switch permanent.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting late interest from Serie A rivals Inter, who have reportedly contacted the player and are trying to secure a deal themselves to be complete inside the next two days.
